About

Artist Communications Agency (ACA) was founded in 2023 by Stewart Campbell. Stewart is a strategic communications professional with over 12 years of experience. He has worked in a diverse range of practice areas at both privately owned companies and a publicly held Fortune 500 corporation. His experience includes press and media relations, strategic planning, artist communications working directly with talent, and internal diversity and inclusion communications and programming.

Before starting ACA, Stewart led PR for Mark Bradford as an associate director on the artist’s team at Hauser & Wirth where he was hired in 2019 as the gallery’s first communications specialist working directly with an artist. Over four years, Stewart created and executed research-driven communications strategies that developed and introduced to the public new frameworks for understanding Bradford’s work. He implemented this through well-managed relationships with press and media as well as institutional partnerships and collaborative relationships across internal teams — including Sales, Research, Education, Marketing and Communications, and Curatorial.

From 2010-2018, Stewart managed diversity programming and communications on the Global Diversity & Inclusion team at Interpublic Group, a publicly traded Fortune 500 company. He produced professional programming for three business resource groups in collaboration with employee volunteers from across the network’s nearly 100 agencies and managed the team’s internal communications channels that reached over 19,000 US employees.

Stewart received his Master of Arts in Critical and Curatorial Studies at Columbia University in 2010 where he wrote his thesis on Krzysztof Wodiczko’s "Immigrant Instruments" under Dr. Noam Elcott. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at the College of Wooster in 2007.
